Delete your data

How to delete your Laytuh account and everything in it, and exactly what goes.

Effective 2 October 2026.

Delete in the app

  1. Open Laytuh and sign in.
  2. Go to YouAccountDelete account
  3. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account.

Your account is deleted straight away and you're signed out on that phone. Sign out on any other devices too, or uninstall the app there, to clear the copy cached on them.

If the app says deleting isn't available on your version, use email instead. Same result.

Delete by email

If you can't use the app, or deleted it already:

  1. Email support@laytuh.com from the address you use for Laytuh, with the subject Delete my Laytuh account.
  2. We'll reply to that address to confirm it's you. We never ask for a password.
  3. We delete the account within 30 days of confirming, and email you when it's done.

If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, write from any address and tell us; we'll confirm through your relay address.

If you signed in with Facebook, Google or Apple

Removing Laytuh from your Facebook, Google or Apple account stops that provider signing you in to Laytuh. It doesn't delete your Laytuh account or saves. To do that, use one of the two ways above.

  • Facebook: Settings & privacy, then Settings, then Apps and websites, then remove Laytuh.
  • Google: myaccount.google.com, Security, Your connections to third-party apps & services, then Laytuh.
  • Apple: Settings, your name, Sign in with Apple, then Laytuh.

What gets deleted

Deleted means removed from our live database, not hidden or deactivated:

  • your account, email address and sign-in connections;
  • your profile: display name, handle and creator page;
  • every save, with its notes, dates, corrections and the details we found for it;
  • your boards, and your items on boards other people own;
  • polls you created, including every vote cast on them, and your votes on other polls;
  • board invites you sent or received;
  • reminders, their history and your "Did it" and "Not now" answers;
  • Ask history and the agent's log, suggestions and memory;
  • your push tokens and settings.

On your phone, the app clears its cached saves and any screenshot images when you're signed out. Uninstalling removes them too.

What we keep, and why

  • Backups. Our database provider keeps backups that expire on a rolling schedule. Your data leaves them when they expire. We never restore a deleted account from a backup.
  • Anonymised figures. Counts that can't be traced back to you, such as how many saves came back in a week, or which websites usually belong in which space.
  • Shared previews. The public title and preview of a link, which isn't tied to you once your save is gone.
  • Records we must keep by law, for example a note that we handled your deletion request, kept only as long as required.
  • What others copied. If you published a board or poll, we can't pull back copies other people made while it was public.

Deleting less than everything

  • One save: open it and choose Delete save.
  • An item on a board: choose Remove from board.
  • A whole board, a poll, your creator page or an email from the old pre-launch waitlist: email us and say which, and we'll delete it.
